For some reason Feedburner has decided to change the URL of our feed. This means that iTunes and all RSS readers are having problems with our feed. Our Calendar is also not displaying, for reasons I haven’t yet figured out. I’m working on fixing all of this.
This spring weather is making it hard to be inside to do a show. Fortunately, Kelly is making some noise in Billings. If you like the “local” underground music on our show, then you’ll love his!
Roller Derby practice here in the Flathead Valley has been moved from Wednesdays to Mondays. Rumor on the inside is that the change was to be more accommodating to our gal, Dawn. Jam on it.
I’ve been gunning to change the name of our podcast for awhile now. I picked the name Third Place Radio and then “sold” it to a couple of friends. I must have done a good job with my sales pitch, because now these very same friends think it’s a mistake to change it. I’m not sure if they just didn’t like the replacement suggestions I had or if they are really feeling the “third place” concept. Either way, it’s pretty clear that some of our biggest supporters want the name to stay the same. So, wish granted.
The logo has changed. DC gave us permission to commandeer the doodle he did while he was a guest on our show as the new logo. Many of you may ask yourself, “why is the guy only holding up two fingers, shouldn’t it be three?” To which I say, “you’ll need to ask the artist.”
The website has had some major renovations as well. We have a pretty substantial amount of visits to our site, but not as many stick around to listen to a show. I’m not sure exactly why this is, but maybe some of the improvements will help. If you’re a supporter of the show we plan to pester you for your hard earned cash pretty soon. We’re going to have merchandise for sale as well as a PayPal Donate option. I finally put some numbers to paper and found that this show is costing me about $30 a month to produce. We don’t expect to get rich or even quit our day jobs, but if the show could pay for itself that would be helpful.
Due to a recent decision by NBC executives and an alleged parking lot dispute between Moonsong Greentrout and Gordon Lightfoot’s security crew, we will be taking a little break from doing the show. Check with your bookie for the odds on whether or not we come back twice as strong.
Due to an increasing amount of requests to do another show, Tom has done another show. (This is probably not what people were hoping for, but it’s all we can do.) Montana favorites, Tonight We Ride, Bird’s Mile Home and Goddamnitboyhowdy are all played, as is the number one song of the Summertime by Girls. […]
I was feeling like I needed to be productive today. This was literally the least I could do. Frightened By Rabbits were covered in ash and were not able to make it to Coachella. The iPad is too powerful for Israel. Seriously. Infected Mushroom seemed an appropriate band to play to honor this. As did […]
This is the show that could have been "hella" cool, but instead settled for "yotta" cool. It's time to buy your music festival tickets. Will you choose one that is near or far this year? Coachella, Sasquatch, or maybe Bonnaroo? Sorry, but no roller derby girls were interviewed in the making of this episode. They are busy ladies. You […]
TV shows are always taking time off, so why shouldn't we? The Flying Penguins made Montana state history by plunging into Whitefish Lake. We hear about that. Shel Silverstein is more than just a children's author, something you learn as an adult. […]
We start the show off with some local music, Train Song. Then it's on to the unavoidable late night TV "situation". We're with CoCo. The greatest band Dawn never knew she loved was then played. Plenty of people will be jumping into ice cold water February 6th for a good cause. Plus we discuss what we call, "leading a healthy lifestyl […]
